Is this scene the first time we’ve heard about Clara (and presumably the other APOCs) having an “original handler” other than Oculi?
In any event, it confirms what Rob wanted Clara to know before: Oculi were never honest with her and she shouldn’t expect them to give her anything they promise even if she does exactly what they want.
The term ‘Handler’ came up in chapter 3 when Rob and Clara were talking, but it wasn’t expanded on. But you’re right on the money 🙂
You’d think a room containing Subject files would be more secure, and that staff would be more reactive to finding a Subject snooping around in it…
Also, why is Jennings’s file on her written like a personal diary?
