I realised when I first wrote Jennings, he was just a nasty man with no tact, and I think that showed in the earlier chapters. But now he’s more of the gas-lighting type, with a show for physical abuse thrown in. For anyone wondering why Clara never ran away in Chapter 3, hopefully pages like this one will give you a good reason why.

Whatever else he is, he’s incredibly stupid. If Clara’s powers ever reawaken, there he is, the one who most needs killing. Even if the guards tranquilize her, hell already be dead. Judging by his actions, that concept doesn’t even seem to have crossed his mind.
That’s the scene I’m waiting for. ^^
I suspect that full-scale monologuing will precipitate something like that…
Uff. I hope she does not fall for this show of mental abuse any longer from this point on. The things she has figured out in the last chapters should give her enough evidence and reasons to break away from Jennings. Specially now that Robert is involved and being kept prisoner there as well.
