I’ve seen a lot of people guess exactly who/what Anabelle is in this story, so here’s the definitive answer!
From the beginning, I’ve always wanted to work with a version of the Four Horsemen that has Conquest as the First Horseman. Depending on what version you read it’s always going to differ, but the idea of conquering your land with the power of undeniable persuasion is very 21st century.

I’ll admit that Gasmask Boy was introduced, I thought he’d be Pestilence, so plot twist successful!
“Pestilence” is the same as “Death”, the fourth horseman riding a pale (or greenish, “chloros”) horse and followed by Hades (the Netherworld, typically imagined as a horde of zombies or similar). That’s Clara quite obviously, just as “War” is Robert without doubt.
Totally dislocated myself. I was absolutely certain that she was Trade (i.e. “Famine”), her persuasion skills, her obsession about pricing everything, her self-proclaimed emphasis on *trading* with information, etc. She could only be the one with the scales.
But your story, your rules, I guess.
In researching the four horsemen, I found so many different versions of what people believe to be canon and true. After a while, I stopped trying to find the most agreed-upon version, and started making my own to play with. Either way, my version will be incorrect to many, but at least I’ll have fun with it. 😉

Keeping in mind that these people were developed (in-story) by the Oculi, whatever that
lot wanted was what they got, quite apart from Bible translation. 🙂

Methinks the lady doth protest too much…Would you like to be known as Pestilence? As a disease? Every power manifests differently, and having you be mind controlled is easily under a disease’s power. Not saying that the author would mislead us fair readers…
Absolutely fair enough. I just don’t get to see “King” as this trader lady but surely just me.
